Alberta Private Health (CBC - The Current)

The publicly funded Alberta Health Services board is spending nearly $5 million to bail out a private, for-profit surgical clinic in Calgary after it declared bankruptcy last week. That's despite the fact that the clinic was charging more for the surgeries than public hospitals. The bailout has re-ignited the debate over private health care.  Frontier's Euro-Canada Consumer Health Index is cited by Dr. Brian Gray toward's the latter part of the discussion.
