Personally, I like the empty chair metaphor and I think it puts focus on what is missing with the current POTUS. Obama is like LA. There is no there there.
The POTUS should be more than a teleprompter reading automaton. Voters across the political spectrum should be asking more from candidates than they are currently getting.
